Pork & Apple Pie
£5.00 – £10.00Price range: £5.00 through £10.00
Our Pork & Apple Pie is an award winner. A traditional combination that’s certain to tickle your taste buds!
- Ideal for buffets and parties
- Cooked and ready to eat
- Homemade using the finest ingredients
Unfortunately, this pie is only available as a small pie.
Small – an individual pie (serves 1 person) (min weight 160g per pie)
For the filling, we use free range pork that’s cut from the shoulder and the belly, along with a secret blend of herbs and spices. Our srumptious, melt in the mouth hot water pastry is made in small batches using only the finest quality ingredients. Once each pie has been baked and allowed to cool, a seasoned jelly is added. This classic pork pie ingredient adds to the flavour and helps to keep the filling moist.
Each and every pie that leaves our bakery is hand pressed, hand filled and baked with care.
Please note: the hot water pastry we make to create our award winning pork pies is much softer than the pastry found on traditional Melton Mowbray pork pies, or the pies that can be purchased from supermarkets. We refer to our pork pies as ‘butcher-style’ pork pies. The savoury jelly that we use to keep the pork meat succulent adds to the softeness of the pastry, which does increase over time.

All Ryan pies are fantastic, but this one is one of my particular favourites. Good quality meat as always but the pastry he uses is some of the best I’ve tasted anywhere (he uses the same pastry on the other pies as well, it’s not unique to this one). The apple topping is quality too.

Bit cheeky to leave a review as technically I never ordered from this site before, but I ordered a fair few of the pies when they were sold on pigs in pastry .
In a word they are fantastic.
Best pork pies I’ve ever had hands down, every variation I tried was spot on.
They also in my experience at least, freeze really well, so you can order a good number to help offset postage.
I was worried for a while when the old site went down I’d not be able to get them again but damn pleased to see them back up.
Just looking forward to pay day now to get a fresh set in.
If you haven’t tried any of the pork pies before, I’d say start with the apple or the Stilton and leek. (ideally both if your getting them posted)
Only regret I ever found with any of the pies was when I ran out.
